OnePlus 6T update – the new features that could be arriving soon REVEALED

Owners of the OnePus 6 and OnePlus 6T could be about to get some major changes coming to their smartphones.

The Chinese technology firm has just announced the release of its next beta update which brings some new features and enhancements.

The biggest change appears to be an improvement to the photo editor on the 6T along with screenshot optimisations.

More detailed weather alerts, general bug fixes and UI optimisations are also included.

It’s worth noting that along with the 6T getting this beta, the OnePlus 6, OnePlus 5 and 5T are also part of the upgrade.

OnePlus says that all members can try the beta but users should be aware that these builds are sometimes not as stable as the official software releases and anyone installing the update should accept the potential risks.

Here are the latest open beta builds for OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 5 and 5T

System • Screenshot UI optimizations

Gallery • Improved photo editor

Launcher • Improved color adaptation for cards in the shelf

OnePlus Switch • Supported permissions migration for applications

Weather  More detailed weather alerts, Weather timeline mirrors system time format and general bug fixes and improvements

Phone • UI optimizations

The news of this update arrives ahead of the next OnePlus launch.

The Chinese firm is expected to release the new OnePlus 7 in the coming months and it could include some big new upgrades and bonus features.

Although not confirmed, it seems the OnePlus 7 could arrive with a fully edge-to-edge screen, fast Qualcomm 855 processor and triple rear camera.

There’s also the possibility that this device will get a pop-up selfie camera rather than featuring a notch.

If OnePlus follows its usual launch pattern then expect to hear more news on this device in May.
