NBA news: LeBron James confession, Giannis Antetokounmpo injury update, Steph Curry talks

LeBron James makes Lakers admission

LeBron James has admitted he’s found it tough to process the Los Angeles Lakers’ absence from the playoffs.

“It’s been difficult in between (game) days,” said James. “I can’t sit here and lie.

“Just to know that mathematically we’re eliminated from the postseason.

“That’s like March Madness to me, to be able to go and play those games.

“But at the end of the day once the game is here, and I know I’m going to be able to play, when I suit up it’s all business.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo discusses ankle injury

Milwaukee Bucks ace Giannis Antetokounmpo has admitted his right ankle isn’t 100 per cent but is adamant he won’t have a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

“I’m definitely working on it on a daily basis trying to get it healthy, stronger,” the Greek said. “I have to work through it while playing and try to get my strength back.

“It’s not going to be easy. Usually, when you sprain your ankle, you stay out for two, three, four games.

“But I don’t like missing games. I’ve got to work through it while playing.

“I’ll be ready to play until coach [Mike Budenholzer] tells me not to play.”

Steph Curry issues rallying cry to Golden State Warriors

Steph Curry has insisted the Golden State Warriors need to finish the regular season as strong as possible in order to retain the NBA Championship.

He said: “If we take care of our business more times than not in these last stretch of games then (the No. 1 seed) should take care of itself.

“And then, in doing that, you can judge, you know, how we’ve been playing defensively, you know, finding that offensive rhythm and balancing all the offensive talent we have out there on the floor, and building momentum.

“So, unlike last year where we were kind of depleted because of injuries and Houston was running away with that one seed, it’s kind of a built-in goal to how we want to finish the year, so it’s definitely important.”
