Gmail update – Your email account is set for a major improvement

Gmail is one of the most popular pieces of email software around.

The client is renowned for its simplicity and array of handy features.

Google regularly updates Gmail by adding new features and improvements.

One of the most notable of these came in the form of a huge redesign for the software last year that added a swathe of fresh features.

But now Google has announced a new upgrade for the client that looks set to make emails more interactive and up to date.

Dubbed “dynamic email”, Google has stated the feature will allow messages to be “more useful” thanks to the increased actions that can be taken in a thread.

Essentially, the new function is designed to remove the need to open a new tab or internet window in order to get tasks done.

Instead, Google is allowing users to perform actions such as providing an RSVP to an event, filling out a questionnaire or responding to a comment within Gmail itself.

Explaining the new functionality, Google said: “We’re making emails more useful and interactive in Gmail.

“Your emails can stay up to date so you’re always seeing the freshest information, like the latest comment threads and recommended jobs.

“With dynamic email, you can easily take action directly from within the message itself, like RSVP to an event, fill out a questionnaire, browse a catalog or respond to a comment.”

The tech behemoth used the example of someone that has been mentioned in a Google Docs comment being able to reply to it directly from within Gmail.

It was insisted the thread in question would be “up-to-date”, meaning it would refresh if new messages were added.

The Mountain View firm went on: “Take commenting in Google Docs, for example. Instead of receiving individual email notifications when someone mentions you in a comment, now, you’ll see an up-to-date thread in Gmail where you can easily reply or resolve the comment, right from within the message.”

Google declared a number of businesses are making use of the functionality and are allowing users to perform new actions such as saving ideas to boards in Pinterest from the Gmail software.

The American tech giant was eager to emphasise it would review any business or individual that wants to send a dynamic email before granting them the ability to do so.

Google stated dynamic emails have already started rolling out to those using Gmail on the web but added mobile support for it is “coming soon”.
