Avengers Endgame: Could Marvel epic have FAN BACKLASH like Harry Potter Cursed Child play?

The Marvel epic has a lot to live up to following the giant success of Avengers Infinity War last year. But what if the unthinkable happened and Avengers Endgame was a disappointment to fans? Let’s not forget the backlash Star Wars The Last Jedi received. Hopefully, this won’t be the case, but if it happens to Endgame we reckon it’ll be more akin to the fan reaction to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

For those not so familiar, the eighth official Harry Potter story was released in the form of a play a couple of years ago.

Of course, millions of fans around the world couldn’t get tickets so the script was published and there was quite the reaction on social media.

Yes, the Cursed Child’s plot and twists were compared to fan fiction, leaving many fans annoyed that JK Rowling allowed the play to go ahead.

Arguably convoluted, the plot saw Harry and Draco’s sons use time turners on a mission back in time to the events of the Triwizard Tournament.

While this unconfirmed theory may sound exciting to some fans, it does sound like a similar route to the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play.

And if not handled well could, at the very least, see backlash from some of the fans.

Already there’s concern among the Marvel faithful that time travel being used to reverse the deaths in Avengers Infinity War lowers the stakes of what will be the finale to the 22 movie-spanning Infinity Saga.

Nevertheless, directors the Russo Brothers have promised that whatever redemption there is in Avengers Endgame will come at a huge cost.

How fans will react to the storytelling decisions will remain unknown until the film’s release, but the chances of another Last Jedi or Cursed Child is not beyond the realms of possibility.

Avengers Endgame will be released in UK cinemas on April 25, 2019.
