Weight loss diet: This one drink can help you lose fat – how often should you have it?

If hoping to lose a few pounds, there are plenty of diet plans to choose from to help slimmers achieve their goals.

Many people know that to lose weight they must eat less and move more, but there are other things that can help boost weight loss.

Drinking more water can help dieters shift the pounds, according to research.

What’s more, having it at certain times of the day will boost the effects it has on the body and can help kick-start weight loss.

Drinking water is essential to keep the body working as it should, but it can also have some pretty impressive results for those hoping to slim down.

Those who do drink water can increase their metabolism by 24-30 per cent for roughly an hour after consuming it, meaning that dieters can burn more calories.

According the research published on the US National Library of Medicine, drinking 500ml of water 30 minutes before meals will encourage dieters to consume fewer calories.

The study of 48 middle-aged adults found that those who drank the water lost 44 per cent more weight over a 12-week period than those who didn’t.

On top of this, research showed that thirst is often mistaken for hunger, so sipping on a cold class of water can help slimmers cut down on snacks.

Another way that slimmers can start to reduce their waist line is by opting for another drink and having a cup of coffee.

Not only does good quality coffee have lots of antioxidants, studies have shown that the caffeine in coffee can boost the metabolism by up to 11 per cent and increase fat burning by up to 29 per cent.

The best way to consume the bitter drink is by taking it black, as adding sugar and milk add extra calories to the drink.

If looking for a lower-caffeine hot drink, ordering a mug of green tea can also help dieters trim down.

Green tea is loaded with antioxidants which are believed to help the body burn fat, according to another study published on the US National Library of Medicine.

Drinking this can speed up the metabolism and reduce sugary cravings, potentially leading cutting down on the amount of snacking slimmers do.

Some foods can help the weight loss process more than others, and eating avocados can help slimmers notice a change in their waistline.

Swapping foods high in sugar, such as sweet potatoes, for an avocado is recommended as it contains healthy fats and only one gram of sugar per fruit, according to Daria Kantor, founder and CEO of the personal fitness and lifestyle app, TruBe.

When picking what to eat in the morning, those who eat meals high in fibre can set themselves up for the day.

People who opt for a breakfast high in fibre, such as oats, will keep the body feeling fuller for longer.

This can mean dieters will be less tempted to opt for unhealthy snacks later in the day.
