Homes Under The Hammer: ‘Help is there’ Lucy Alexander’s co-star takes on special project

Lucy Alexander, 48, who previously appeared on Homes Under The Hammer alongside Martin Roberts, 55, since the show aired in 2003, is embarking on a new challenge which is a complete u-turn to his television appearances. Homes Under The Hammer presenter Martin Roberts, 55, who previously hosted the show with Lucy Alexander, is turning his hand to something very different. The property expert has written a new children’s book which aims to teach youngsters about the importance of mental health. The father-of-two told the Southern Daily Echo: “As a father I’m fully aware of the obligation we have as parents to give our offspring the best possible start in life and most of us do.

“However, not all children are lucky enough to enjoy the kind of childhood that my and hopefully your children will experience.”

He continued: “And it is for these children that I’ve created my foundation, with the goal to support education and safeguarding initiatives for children and young people.

“The message that Sadsville carries is that if you are sad for any reason, there is help out there.”

The book, entitled Sadsville, is to be distributed to more than 21,000 school children in Hampshire.

The project is a part of his charity, the Martins Roberts Foundation.

It comes after his former TV colleague recently teased a project the pair are potentially working on together.

In view of her 33,300 Instagram followers, the blonde star posted a throwback snap of herself with her pal, Martin.

She captioned the post: “Back with the Ex… @martinrobertstv & @rtrptv tv having fun doing a new show #crafts.”

It was unclear what the new show was about but this did not stop fans from bombarding the star with comments, reminiscing about the BBC duo.

One person wrote: “Ahhh – you got the band back together!”

Another commented: “Miss you two presenting together.”

While a third added: “Loved you two together in #homesunderthehammer #reunited.”

Meanwhile, Lucy recently opened up about leaving the auction property show and her TV partner, admitting she felt as though the pair were going through “a divorce”.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, she said: “Of course he misses me! He said it was like going through a divorce when I left.”

Lucy also admitted she would love to return to the show, despite Martel Maxwell joining in 2017.

She added: “I would never say never. Let’s see what happens in the future. I would be lying if I said I didn’t miss it.”

She continued: “It was a lot of hard work for a lot of years.”

Homes Under The Hammer airs weekdays from 10am on BBC One.
