Nick Kyrgios SMASHES racket in Miami Open rage and gives hilarious excuse

Kyrgios took the first set 6-4 but lost serve at a pivotal point in the second.

The Australian was in firm control of his service game but went on to lose as Coric led 5-3.

Kyrgios saw red mist and slammed his racket against the ground twice.

However, he did then offer his equipment to a member of the crowd who was wearing a Boston Celtics journey – the team which Kyrgios also supports.

The umpire did not take too kindly to Kyrgios’ actions and issued him with a code violation.

But the 23-year-old gave a hilarious excuse for his misdemeanour.

“I was just folding it up,” he said to the chair official.

Coric went on to hold serve and take the game to a deciding set.

Kyrgios continued to entertain the Miami Open crowd as he copied Roger Federer’s serve before the match.

He then spent over three minutes trying to land his water bottle straight up by flipping it as Coric took a toilet break after taking the match to a deciding set.

It is not the first time Kyrgios has been the centre of attention this week.

During his previous clash with Dusan Lajovic, he wound up a spectator to the point security had to remove the fan.

He also ranted at an umpire as he was dumped out of the doubles draw in the opening round.

The No 27 seed blasted “You’re a f***ing disgrace” to the official after losing in the doubles.

But his singles campaign is going strong as he looks to build on an amazing Mexican Open title win last month.
