Simon Mignolet update

Liverpool’s second-choice goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has delivered a measured update regarding his future at Anfield.

Mignolet, 31, hasn’t played a single minute of Premier League football this season – sitting firmly behind Alisson in the pecking order.

“This season, it was something quite easy to accept, but, obviously, I’d like to play. That’s why I keep working every day and try to keep on going on this path,” Mignolet told TV Limburg.

“I don’t know if an exit is possible this summer, I still have two years left on my contract. For now, I’m focused on Liverpool and Belgium games. We’ll see later.”

Bobby Adekanye exit

Liverpool academy prospect Bobby Adekanye has confirmed that he will leave the club when his contract expires this summer.

Adekanye, formerly of Barcelona’s youth side, arrived at Liverpool in 2015 but has rejected a new three-year deal.

Adekanye told Voetbalzone that Jurgen Klopp’s decision to NOT include him in Liverpool’s pre-season tour to the US was the final straw.

“That didn’t happen in the end. That is disappointing and it has contributed to the fact that I do not want to renew my contract,” Adekanye told Voetbalzone.

“If they promise such things and it doesn’t happen, I don’t know what will happen if I sign for three years.

“That confidence is no longer there, even though I still greatly respect the club. They don’t just extend for three years, so maybe there was a schedule behind it. But I no longer have faith in that.

“In terms of money, things are fine, but you have nothing if there is no perspective behind it. Money will come later, I now need playing minutes.”

Alberto Moreno to Barcelona

Liverpool outcast Alberto Moreno is set to join Barcelona.

That’s according to Spanish publication Sport, who claim the 26-year-old will sign a two-year deal with the Catalan giants.

Moreno has made just five appearances in all competitions under Jurgen Klopp this season – a combined 344 minutes of first-team action.

And Sport claim Liverpool aren’t interested in extending his £65,000-a-week contract that’s set to expire in June.

The report adds that Barcelona are also eyeing Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt and Serbia striker Luka Jovic.
