Avengers Endgame: Chris Evans on ‘surprisingly EMOTIONAL’ last set day as Captain America

He started out in superhero movies as Human Torch in the Fantastic Four movies, before bagging the role of Steve Rogers in 2010. Since starring in 2011’s Captain America The First Avenger, Evans has played the Marvel figurehead every year. And with Avengers Endgame released next month, this will mark his ninth and final time playing Captain America. With filming wrapped, the 37-year-old has opened up about his last day on set.

Last year, Joe Russo told Andy McCarroll Movies: “For us, this was the challenge of telling the story but also completing the personal journey that we started as storytellers in Winter Soldier.

“So the story that began in Winter Soldier and that ends in Avengers 4 is a… there’s a very personal arc there for us.

“I think you’ll understand our point of view as filmmakers and who we are as people when you watch all four of those movies together.”

Avengers Endgame is released in UK cinemas on April 25, 2019.
