Romeu Lukaku asked who is the fastest player at Man Utd: This is how he responds

Lukaku has endured an up-and-down season at Old Trafford this term, but has hit form recently with six goals in his last four games.

Lukaku has had his fair share of critics after struggling towards the end of Jose Mourinho’s tenure and remaining sidelined in the early months of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s time in charge.

But the 25-year-old is adamant about one thing – he is the quickest star in the United squad.

Lukaku was reading out questions from fans on Manchester United’s official Instagram account when one perked his interest.

“Who’s the fastest in the group?” he read, before looking directly at the camera and raising his hand.

Nodding his head, breaking into a smile and pointing at the camera, Lukaku added: “And people call me slow!”

And the stats back up the Belgian.

Opta figures report that Lukaku has featured three times in the top 10 fastest sprints from United players in the Premier League this season.

The former Chelsea hitman clocked a top speed of 34.89km/h against Watford back in September, with his second-quickest 34.76km/h coming against Wolves in the same month.

Diego Dalot is third on 34.69km/h, Marcus Rashford comes in fourth and fifth while Ashley Young and Luke Shaw also feature in the top 10.

Lukaku also has the record of United’s quickest sprint in the 2017-18 campaign of 34.84km/h.

The Belgium striker missed his country’s 3-1 Euro 2020 qualifying win over Russia on Thursday and 2-0 win away at Cyprus on Sunday.

Belgium confirmed last week that Lukaku had left training in order to have an MRI scan on his foot, before returning to Manchester.

And Lukaku is on the comeback trail, posting a picture from the gym on his Instagram Story today.
