Raheem Sterling HITS OUT at racist abuse after England rout – 'Get some education'

The Manchester City ace netted towards the end of the match and made a gesture with his ears towards the Montenegro fans.

There were monkey chants aimed at Danny Rose as well.

After the match Sterling took to social media to make his feelings clear on the abuse he endured.

He said: “Best way to silence the haters (and yeah I mean racists) #2019 #getsomeeducation.”

England boss Gareth Southgate was in no doubt at what his players had to endure in Montenegro.

He told ITV: “I definitely heard abuse on Danny Rose when he got booked at the end of the game, there is no doubt in my mind that happened and we we will make sure that is reported officially, that is not acceptable.

“I am not sure yet (on Sterling), I have had a quick chat with Danny because I heard what happened there, I haven’t had chance to speak with Raheem yet, but whatever happened we will report.

“I don’t want to speculate but I know what I heard so as I say we will definitely deal with it in the right way and we have got to make sure we support our players.”

Sterling’s England team-mate Callum Hudson-Odoi also confirmed he heard racist abuse from the crowd.

He explained: ”It’s not right, it’s unacceptable. When I went over there, me and Rosey heard it, they were saying: ‘Ooh, ahh, ahh’ monkey stuff.

“We just have to keep our heads, keep a strong mentality. Hopefully Rosey is OK as well, and if anything we’ll have a chat and discuss what happened.

“It’s not right at all. I was enjoying the game as well, but to hear stuff like that is never right, but as I said you’ve got to have a strong mentality.”

Former England international Rio Ferdinand tweeted alongside a picture of Sterling.

He said: “Good to see @England answering back to ignorance in the best way possible… another 3 points in the group, 10 goals in 2 Games.”
