Neighbours spoilers: Piper Willis leaves Leo Tanaka heartbroken as she makes HUGE decision

Piper (played by Mavournee Hazel) has become one of Neighbours’ most loved characters since she first appeared on the Channel 5 soap in 2015, arriving in Erinsborough as the daughter of strong-minded Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou).

Since then, the young Ramsay Street resident has embarked on many a romance with some of the male suitors of Erinsborough, with her most memorable story of the heart with former jailbird Tyler Breannan (Travis Burns).

After hooking up with Tyler’s half-brother Cassius Grady (Joe Davidson) when her former beau was jailed for killing the brothers’ father Hamish Roache (Sean Taylor), the fate of the young lover’s relationship seemed to be sealed when Tyler was exonerated of the murder, with Cassius being revealed as the killer.

Following his release from jail last year, it seems Piper is still pining after the love of her life, even though she is in a casual relationship with Leo Tanaka (Tim Kano), and decides to begin a life away from Ramsay Street with him as she announces she is leaving next week.

Leo and Piper got together after the businessman discovered his girlfriend and Piper’s mother Terese had decided to call time on their relationship and pick things up with his father, Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis).

Although his intentions with Piper may have been to spite Terese in the first instance, it seems Leo has fallen for the youngster, with the pair spending more time together.

However, Piper’s realisation about Tyler comes when she confronts her sister Imogen Willis (Ariel Kaplan) when the youngster becomes suspicious about Imogen’s dealings as a lawyer, haven taken on the business from Toadie Rebecchi (Ryan Maloney) following wife Sonya Rebecchi’s (Eve Morey) death.

Wanting to find out why her sister is being so shady, Piper investigates Imogen’s work and soon discovers she is the defence lawyer working with Ramsay Street villain Finn Kelly (Rob Mills), who is being interrogated over his crimes.

When Piper finally confronts Imogen, the hot-shot lawyer hits back at her sister, telling the youngster she is clearly unhappy and has no sense of direction in her life or what she wants from her future.

Hitting a nerve, Piper contemplates her sister’s harsh words even further when the Willis family gather to remember Josh Willis (Harley Bonner) who was killed during the Lassiters Hotel explosion three years ago.

Piper decides she needs more from her life and calls things off with Leo, telling him she is leaving Erinsborough, leaving him heartbroken as another relationship has come to an end in as many weeks.

After revealing her news to Leo, Piper packs her bags and bids farewell to her family before setting off on her first adventure to reunite with Tyler so they can be happy together.

Rumours of actress Mavournee Hazel’s exit from the Australian soap first emerged last month when the Neighbours star posted images of herself at a photoshoot, with fans led to believe the actress was working on other projects.

The rumours were exacerbated when co-star Takaya Honda, who plays Leo’s twin brother David Tanaka, said in an Instagram live video: “I don’t know if it’s been revealed or if it’s not, but I think you can check out Mav’s page and get an idea for that.”

Terese Willis star Rebekah Elmaloglou also dropped a hint the actress had left the soap, as when Mavournee posted some more snaps, the star replied: “Killing me! I miss you baby!”

With Piper leaving her life in Erinsborough behind her, another drama unfolding on Ramsay Street has seen Elly Conway (Jodi Anasta) reveal to Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor) she had cheated on him with his sister Chloe Brennan (April Rose Pengilly).

Although Mark wanted to call time on their marriage, having recently exchanged vows, Elly discovered she could be pregnant, leading Mark to say they should give their relationship another chance.

However, when Elly goes to the hospital to confirm the news, she is told she isn’t pregnant, leaving her desperate to sleep with Mark again to ensure she has a baby and they can move past her moment of passion with Chloe.

Mark refuses to sleep with his wife, leading Elly to drown her sorrows at a local bar where she bumps into Finn’s brother Shaun Watkins (Brad Moller).

Will Elly cheat on Mark again and find herself pregnant with Shaun’s baby but try to pass it off as her husband’s, or will the truth avail?

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
