Xbox Live WARNING: Don’t forget to download these Xbox One free games ahead of Gold news

Microsoft is offering new free games to download this week, all of which are available on Xbox One.

For those gamers with access to the Game Store and have an active Xbox Live Gold membership, you can take advantage of three exclusive trials today.

Part of the official Xbox Free Play Days, all three games are available to download until the early hours of Monday morning.

This includes NBA 2K Playgrounds 2, MX vs ATV All Out, And Vigor, all of which can be found on the Xbox Dashboard.

The games have been officially available to play since March 21, but they are still active and won’t disappear until the official timer runs down.

Both NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 and MX vs ATV are discounted in the store, so anyone who enjoys playing them during the trial period can also snap them up for cheap.

Vigor is a little different from the other two as this is an Xbox Preview title and therefore still in early access.

As the recent Free Game announcement confirms, Vigor will continue to see new features and options added before its full release.

“This free weekend hits shortly after the release of the 0.8 “Signal” update, which brought new content and game events, a player lobby and gesture system, as well as implementing numerous improvements and an enhanced gameplay experience overall,” a message from Dominik Jícha, Marketing Manager at Bohemia Interactive reveals.

“Previous updates 0.7 and 0.6 have already added optional objectives, randomised events, duos mode, improved weapon play (with over 17 additional weapons added) and numerous bug fixes and optimisations.”

Vigor is planning to launch as a free-to-play title in the future, but fans can support its ongoing development by purchasing the Founder’s Pack.

And once these free trials have ended, fans can look forward to the big Games with Gold April 2019 announcement.

Microsoft will reveal their new lineup of Gold games next week, although it’s unclear what day the tech giant will choose to drop the news.

Recent Games with Gold announcements have been shared nearer the end of the month, so Thursday or Friday might be the days to watch out for it.

There have so far been no leaks to suggest what could be included, though we do know at least two Xbox One games and two older Xbox titles will be made available.

If you’re also an Xbox Live Gold subscriber, you can add Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 to your collection right now.

Garden Warfare 2 has a favourable rating on Metacritic, both with reviewers and users, and will be available to download until April 15, 2019.

It weighs in at around 32GB on Xbox One and has an age rating of 10+, with plenty of add-ons available for those who want more.

The Games with Gold program provides Gold members with free games every month, worth up to $700 per year, according to Microsoft.

When you select a game, it will be found in your account waiting and ready for download when you sign in to your console.
