In a candid interview, Mel said of the night with Geri, now 46: “We were best friends. It just happened. It wasn’t a thing. “We just giggled at it and that was it. It just happens one time and then you talk about it and it does not really happen again. It was just that one time.” She added: “She had great boobs…”
Mel made the confession to host Piers Morgan during a recording for his ITV chat show Life Stories, which is due to be aired this summer.
Now she fears Geri, who married wealthy F1 boss Christian Horner in 2015, won’t be happy with her revelation.
She said: “She is going to hate me because she is all posh in her country house and her husband. But it’s a fact. She is going to kill me and so is her husband.”
She said the band were so close in the 90s they regularly enjoyed kisses. “When I got my tongue pierced we all kissed… because I wanted to know what it felt like. It was nothing sexual.”
It comes as the band – minus Victoria Beckham – prepare for their 13-date reunion tour, which will culminate with three nights at Wembley in June.
