PS4 SURPRISE: Don’t forget to download this PlayStation free game

PlayStation fans can download a new free game this week from the PS Store.

For those gamers with a PS4 and an active PS Plus subscription, you can grab a copy of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 right now.

The deal went live earlier this week and is a part of a worldwide rollout of a new free version of the game.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is a fighting role-playing game published by Bandai Namco Entertainment in 2016 and boasts a solid review rating.

And the newly released XenoVerse 2 Lite, as the name suggests, doesn’t come with all the original content from the core game.

Fans will find out that after downloading the game onto their PS4 consoles that they only have access to the first 5 episodes of Story Mode.

However, the good news is that online matches, something that will no doubt be the most popular feature, is available to everyone.

It has also been confirmed that all the content from the Hero Colosseum is included and available in Lite.

The downside is that you will need an active PS Plus subscription to play online, so it’s not totally free to play.

However, being only 11GB to download, it will still be worth checking out if you want something new to do this weekend.

It should also be noted that no countdown or timer has been added to the official game listing, suggesting that the Lite version of the game will be available for some time.

The new free download should be available to players in both the UK and the United States, but it will be worth double-checking if your region has the new bonus unlocked.

Bandai Namco has also confirmed all the other features that are missing from the Lite version of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.

“Most advanced online features like Expert Missions, Frieza’s Siege Events or Raid Events won’t be available on Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 – Lite Version,” a Bandai Namco statement confirms.

“However, an owner of the full game will be able to invite a Lite Version player to play an online Raid mission.

“Players who will purchase the full version of the game will be able to transfer their saves from the Lite version.

“All DLC from Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will be compatible with Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 – Lite Version (Super Packs, Extra Packs, Anime Music Packs and TP medals Packs) but three DLC packs will have limitations with the Lite Version.”

When it comes to quests and story missions, it’s been confirmed that the following are featured:

ive story episodes, ‘Raditz’s Attack’, ‘The Saiyan Threat’, ‘Ruckus on Planet Namek’, ‘The Ginyu Force Strikes’ and ‘The Galactic Emperor’, from the main game.

Parallel Quests, meanwhile will unlock accordingly to the story episodes progression, according to Bandai Namco.

It should be noted that this new free game requires a PS Plus subscription but is not part of the official monthly giveaway from Sony.

The April lineup will be announced by the tech giant next week, on the last Wednesday of March 2019.

It’s unclear what will be included but having reduced the number of games available each month; the heat will be on Sony to keep providing the goods.

The tech giant decided to remove titles from the PS Vita and PS3 from the official PlayStation Plus lineup, with the final games released earlier this year.
