Melania Trump stands out in Mar-A-Lago with Donald – did she take style tips from Ivanka?

Melania Trump stood beside her husband Donald Trump today, as the President and First Lady welcomed a number of political figures from the Caribbean. The pair were joined by Saint Lucia Prime Minister Allen Chastanet and President of the Dominican Republic, Danilo Medina. Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness, Haiti’s President Jovenel Moise, and Bahamas Prime Minister Hubert Minnis were also in attendance. The leaders from the Caribbean are currently on a working visit to the Trump family’s Mar-A-Lago estate in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Today, Melania, a former fashion model, stepped out in a vibrant orange, blue, and white dress.

The mid-length dress was cut to just below her knee, and featured an eye-catching pattern.

It’s not currently known where it’s from, or how much it cost.

The garment was sleeveless and had a square neckline.

She teamed it with bright orange pointed heels – which may prompt some to wonder whether she had taken style tips from her step-daughter Ivanka Trump.

The shoes bore a striking resemblance to a pair of similar toned shoes worn by Ivanka, now 37, back in April 2017.

While the pattern itself certainly stood out, Melania’s look was very different to those standing beside her as she posed beside the political leaders.

That’s because these six figures, who were all men, had donned suits and ties.

However, different tones of ties and shades of blue suits set their different styles apart.

Considering her former career as a fashion model, the First Lady’s style is something of great interest to many people.

Melania has also gone under a major style transformation since taking on her role in the White House, a stylist has recently explained.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Glamhive stylist Naina Singla, who is based in Washington DC, explained what the mother-of-one has changed in terms of her look in recent years.

“Melania Trump’s style has evolved a lot since she has become First Lady,” she said.

“Her style is more refined, elegant, and polished; even though it’s not super conservative, it is more conservative compared to what she wore in years past.”

Naina also went on to point out how Melania could use her style to make a statement on the causes she wants to promote.

“Melania has repeatedly stated that she wishes the media would focus less on her outfits and more on the work she is doing,” the stylist explained.

“But it could be argued that she could use her fashion choices to her advantage and to promote various causes.”
