Alex Avila hit a pair of three-run homers as Arizona demolished Chicago in Phoenix. The Diamondbacks’ Alek Thomas and the White Sox’s Ryan Goins also went deep.

Ben Gamel, Manny Pina and Eric Thames homered for Milwaukee in a victory over San Diego at Peoria, Ariz. Manny Machado had his first homer in a Padres uniform, and Wil Myers also hit one out for San Diego.
