Samsung Galaxy S10 news as O2 reveals two big upgrades launching soon

The Galaxy S10 went on sale earlier this month with Samsung’s flagship bringing a swathe of new features to Galaxy fans.

Packed inside this latest flagship are a bunch of upgrades including a faster processor, bigger battery and fully edge-to-edge display which now spreads across the front of the device.

On the rear panel, you’ll also find some changes with the S10 now including a triple rear camera.

This new trio of lenses improves the overall photography experience with users treated to an ultra wide-angle and telephoto lens option.

Samsung has also included some nice added extras such as the ability to wireless refill the battery on other devices and an embedded fingerprint scanner under the display.

There’s no question that the S10 is an excellent phone but the O2 network may have just given users two reasons to hold off buying one.

Firstly, the firm has revealed that will become the only UK network operator to offer the Samsung Galaxy S10 devices – including the S10, S10+ and S10e – in ta brand new colour.

Customers can pre-order the S10 range in Prism Blue from the 28th March, before it goes on sale in stores and online from the 4th April.

Along with this new design, there’s something else arriving from Samsung later this year.

The S10 5G looks set to launch in the summer and will offer Galaxy users the chance to get access to this latest mobile technology.

5G will bring download speeds that are four times faster than current 4G and could allow consumers to download movies in a matter of seconds.

The S10 5G also comes with a bigger 6.7-inch Infinity-O Display, larger battery and quadruple rear camera.

O2 has now confirmed that it will be selling this new S10 later in 2019.

Nina Bibby, CMO at O2 commented, “O2’s 5G network will arrive in the four corners of the UK in 2019 and we want the next-generation of mobile services to launch with the very latest devices in the market. 5G promises fasters speeds and improved network experience that will open up a whole new world of possibilities for our customers. That’s why we’re thrilled to be bringing the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G to O2 customers later this year.”

And Conor Pierce, Corporate Vice President for Samsung UK and Ireland added: “For over a decade, Samsung has spearheaded major advances in global connectivity, leveraging a deep heritage in innovation and unrivalled expertise in hardware and services.”

O2 says it will begin rolling out its 5G network in 2019 with customers in Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh and London being the first to benefit.
