Kevin Clifton: ‘I was falling out of love’ Strictly Come Dancing star in career admission

Strictly Come Dancing winner Kevin Clifton, 36, said he started to fall out of love with dancing when he stopped competing in ballroom. Next month, Kevin will be touring with Burn The Floor across the UK, which he credits for bringing his passion for dancing back. Spilling all to OK! Magazine, he said: “It’s storytelling rather than just performing, and so it becomes all about relationships between the dancers. “I find that so exciting. If it wasn’t for Burn The Floor, I don’t think I’d be a dancer today.

“When I stopped competing in ballroom I was falling out of love with dancing, but this show reignited my passion.”

Kevin is also currently starring in the Rock Of Ages and recently judged on All Star Musicals.

Elsewhere, the dancer admitted he isn’t looking for love following his split from wife Karen Clifton last year.

The pair married back in 2015 but announced their break up in March last year, telling fans they are still friends and will remain dancing together.

When quizzed if his busy schedule makes dating harder, he added to the publication: “I haven’t been concentrating on it to be honest.

“I’m not really looking for it, I’m just getting on with my thing.”

But the Strictly star recently spilled he would love to be a father one day.

He told The Sun: “One day I’ll have children – but I’ve got to have a girlfriend first.”

Despite him being single for now, Karen has moved on with singer David Webb.

Kevin recently shared his thoughts on Karen’s new love, admitting she looks “very happy”.

He added to the publication: “I’ve got so much respect for her. I just want her to be happy.

“She seems very happy and she came to my launch night of Rock of Ages, which was great.”

Despite their split, the professional dancers embarked on a tour together just months ago.

Speaking of how they dealt with working together while separated, he added: “We wanted to be as adult as possible and be calm about it. We didn’t want to drive ourselves mad.

“We wanted to carry on working together at Strictly and do our tour together.”
