Apex Legends mobile download WARNING as fans wait for release date news

There are hopes that Apex Legends Mobile will be announced in the near future by Electronic Arts.

But until that happens, fans need to be wary of fake Apex Legends Mobile downloads, which are available on the web.

We already know that EA is interested in bringing a version of the game to Android and iOS, following a recent earnings call.

EA CEO Andrew Wilson has said the gaming giant is “looking at how to take [Apex Legends] to mobile and crossplay over time.”

But it should be noted that Respawn Entertainment has made no such gaming announcement and has given little indication that this is something that could happen in 2019.

Right now, Apex Legends is only available on PS4, Xbox One and PC as a free-to-play title.

There is no release date scheduled for an Apex Legends Mobile game, and until there is, anything saying as such online cannot be trusted.

As noted by Kaspersky Lab, there are already known sites linking to ways to download an Apex Legends Mobile game on search engines, that doesn’t exist.

This will link to APK files which have convincing names but will contain something else entirely and should be avoided at all costs.

Here’s more from Kaspersky Lab, which explains in a new blog post: “If you succumb to temptation and try to install the “game” you found by searching or from a YouTube link, your battle royale with friends will turn into a battle not-so-royale with ads. That’s because you have most likely just downloaded the FakeFort Trojan.

“This is the same ad-serving Trojan that cybercriminals foisted on users under the guise of Fortnite for Android.

“Under a more or less plausible pretext, such as “device verification,” the malware tries to download a whole set of apps that are totally unnecessary and often dangerous.

“The victim might also be required to take a “very important survey,” as well as view a couple of dozen advertising banners and commercials.

“Of course, even after all that hassle, the promised mobile version of Apex Legends never starts. To add credibility, the user is even shown an introductory video from the game, and only then do the demands to install additional apps and take surveys start popping up.”

The best way to avoid being caught up in one of these scams is by waiting for the official release date, whenever that be revealed.

It seems almost inevitable that there will be an Apex Legends version for mobile phones, especially when you look at how successful Fortnite and PUBG have been.

But until official news arrives, fans should only download Android apps from trusted sources, platforms like Google Play.

If like Fortnite Mobile you can’t perform this action, the official website should be used, as the chances of picking up a malware infection is far lower when using official sources.
