Trump claims ISIS will be defeated TONIGHT – ‘They will be GONE’

During a speech to the White House, Trump made the claims when he was talking about his influence in the war against the Syrian organisation. According to the Daily Star, he held two maps, one displaying how the ISIS hold in Iraq and Syria was on the day of his election and the present day. Trump told the audience: “When I took over it was a mess and now on the bottom there is a tiny spot which will be gone by tonight.

These included Baghouz, which is the last ISIS stronghold.

US allies Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) captured around 100 injured ISIS fighters.

Some of those were suspected of killing four Americans in January.

SDF spokesman Mustafa Bali posted on Twitter: “This is not a victory announcement, but a significant progress in the fight.”

Reports suggest that when Baghouz falls, ISIS will be defeated.

White House bureau chief Steve Herman added: “We have captured or killed terrorists with ties to the attack in Manbij that killed four brave Americans.

“We will continue to hunt ISIS, al-Qa’ida, and any of their associates who threaten the US.”

Trump has said just 400 US forces members will remain in Syria indefinitely.
