Meghan Markle shares this link with Mike Tindall – but it differs in a very particular way

Meghan Markle is no doubt one of the most well known members of the British Royal Family. Not only is she married to senior working royal Prince Harry, who is now sixth in line of succession to the throne, but the 37-year-old forged her own successful career as an actor. She was best known for playing the role of Rachel Zane in Suits. What’s more, she created her own lifestyle website, known as The Tig.

However, after nearly three years of running the platform, in April 2017, Meghan closed the website.

Following Prince Harry and Meghan’s announcement of their engagement, she went on to confirm that she would be retiring from acting in order to focus on her royal duties.

These days, the Duchess of Sussex serves as patron for a number of causes, and regularly attends charity events.

Another member of the Royal Family who shot to fame in their own right was Mike Tindall.

The 40-year-old is an English former rugby union player.

He made his debut as a a member of the England team in 2000, and went on to win the 2003 World Cup.

In the same year, the father-of-two was part of the winning team in the 2003 Six Nations Championship.

While it’s thought that working royals are not allowed to endorse brands in return for payment, Mike’s celebrity status has seen him work as a brand ambassador in the past – something Meghan is thought to no longer be allowed to do.

Zara Tindall has also forged her own successful career outside of the Royal Family.

The British equestrian has competed in the Olympics, winning a silver medal in the team event at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

The 37-year-old has also been able to accept sponsorship deals for products in the past.

So, why is it that some royals can accept these deals while others cannot?

It may be because some members of the Royal Family are more likely to take leading roles in the monarchy in the future, as opposed to others.

MailOnline’s Femail, Mischa Joslin, Managing Director of Influencer, PR and Branding agency, Edencancan, explained in the past: “Whilst many brands would likely want to work with say Meghan or Kate, they are not allowed to do paid for partnerships.

“Zara Tindall provides a unique way for brands to tap into the Royal reputation without the restraints and restrictions that would apply to working with a member who is closer to the throne.”

Last week saw the christening of the youngest addition to the Tindall family, Lena Elizabeth, nine months.

Prince Harry and Meghan were spotted at the event, which took place in Cherington, Gloucestershire.

According to reports, the parents-of-two, who also have five-year-old Mia Grace, bestowed the honour of godfather to the prince.
