James Jordan: ‘I couldn’t stop!’ Dancing On Ice winner reveals why wife Ola isn’t happy

The former Strictly Come Dancing professional, 40, was named Dancing On Ice 2019 champion earlier this month. James Jordan told this week’s OK! Magazine he has probably taken the weight loss too far, saying: “[Ola Jordan] thinks I’m too skinny, so I’ve probably lost too much. I needed to at the beginning, but then I couldn’t stop. I’m going to fatten up now,” he added.

James went on to explain how he planned to bulk back up after shedding the pound on Dancing On Ice.

“The first thing I did when I got home was order an Indian takeaway,” he said. “It looks like I’ll be having a shoulder operation with months of recovery — I’ll be sitting at home, stuffing my face.”

James previously told BT TV news Ola was unimpressed with his newly slimmer frame.

“I was out of shape and in a different stage of my life,” he said of his fitness level prior to Dancing On Ice. “But when I knew I was doing the show I knew I had to do something about it.

“[Ola] prefers me bigger. I think it’s because it’s more manly,” he continued.

“I put on weight and muscle and she said I was more cuddly. Now she says I’m just skin and bone.”

James and Ola first met at a dance competition in Blackpool back in 1999.

They tied the knot four years later and shot to fame when they joined the professional line-up on Strictly Come Dancing in 2006.

The pair recently opened up on their hopes of starting a family in a frank interview with Hello! Magazine, saying they were looking into IVF treatment.

Polish-born dancer Ola said she would “love to be a mum”, explaining how she had imagined she would conceive naturally.

“The irony is that for 17 years during our career we tried not to have children because dancing is not a career that easily fits in with family life,” James said.

Ola said the struggle to conceive had made them “stronger than ever” as a couple.

James later told The Sun they were “fed up” of being asked when they were going to have children.

“We have been for some meetings with specialists to asses the situation.

“We’ll do it in due course,” he added. “I can’t wait to be a dad.”
