Pet Sematary is out in UK cinemas on April 4, 2019.

The film premiered at South By Southwest Film Festival on March 16, 2019.

Horror fans in the USA will have to wait until April 5, 2019.

But the last country to see Pet Sematary in theatres is Italy, on May 9, 2019.

What is the plot of Pet Sematary?

According to Paramount Pictures, the studio behind the movie, the synopsis is as follows:

“Pet Sematary follows Dr Louis Creed who, after relocating with his wife Rachel and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home.

“When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbour, Jud Crandall, setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences…”

Though the story is clearly already spoiled for anyone who has read the book, the film will likely still spook its audiences.

Who stars in Pet Sematary?

The cast of Pet Sematary includes Jason Clarke (The Aftermath) as Louis Creed and Amy Seimetz (Alien: Covenant) as Rachel Creed.

John Lithgow (3rd Rock from the Sun, The Crown) stars as Jud Crandall.

Other cast members include Jeté Laurence as Ellie Creed, Hugo Lavoie and Lucas Lavoie as Gage Creed, Obssa Ahmed as Victor Pascow, Alyssa Brooke Levine as Zelda Goldman, Maria Herrera as Marcela.
