Chelsea have ONE key concern as talks held over Maurizio Sarri’s future – Kaveh Solhekol

Chelsea were beaten 2-0 by Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday thanks to goals from Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The west Londoners dominated the first half but were unable to make their pressure count.

Everton came out rejuvenated after half time and Chelsea had no answer to Marco Silva’s side.

Chelsea remain sixth in the Premier League table with their Champions League qualification hopes in serious doubt.

Solhekol says the away form is Chelsea chiefs’ biggest concern and they have discussed whether Sarri is the right man for the job.

“A lot of people at Chelsea are very disappointed with the way the team played yesterday away at Everton,” Solhekol said.

“Now interestingly the players, the ones not on international duty, are not at the training ground today.

“They’ve been given two days off and they’ve been told to report back for training on Wednesday.

“Now I understand that Chelsea are disappointed and concerned about the way the team is playing, especially away from home in the league.

“I think they’ve only won once away from home in the league this year, only Fulham have a worse away record than them this year.

“Now, discussions have been held about the future of Maurizio Sarri, whether he is the right man to take the club forward.

“He signed a three-year contract when he moved to Stamford Bridge from Napoli in July.

“But talks have been held about his future.

“Of course a lot of Chelsea supporters are concerned, not just about the fact the team are inconsistent, but they’re also inconsistent during games.

“They only seem to be able to play well for 45 minutes.

“Also there is a lot of Chelsea supporters concerned about the way that Chelsea are playing under Sarri.”
