Sunday Brunch: Tim Lovejoy forced to apologise as Fleabag star Sian Clifford swears on air

Sunday Brunch was back on Channel 4 this morning as hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer was joined by a whole host of famous guests.

Helping out in the kitchen was Sian Clifford, an actress best known for playing Claire in the hit BBC comedy-drama Fleabag.

Whilst Simon was getting on with cooking, Tim was responsible for entertaining the guest and asking her questions, and the conversation soon turned to Sian’s interest in taking up an unusual sport.

Keen to see her skills, Tim challenged Sian to a tea bag throwing competition.

The aim of the game was the throw the teabag and try and get it into a Sunday Brunch mug.

However, clearly competitive, Sian threw a teabag and unfortunately didn’t get it into the cup, instead she swore and said: “F**k.”

Gasping at her error, those watching at home saw her cover her mouth in shock and Tim was then forced to apologise on her behalf.

He said: “Can I just apologise for that language,” before swiftly changing the subject.

Those watching at home took to Twitter to discuss the moment.

One said: “And so @SundayBrunchC4 is trending for sure… It’s just not about what I’d think they’d like to be trending about #fbomb #oops #Sundabrunch.”

“Omg @sundaybrunchc4 really doing the whole #SundayFunday thing,” another added.

A third commented: “Tea [throwing] and swearing on @sundabrunchc4.”

Someone stated: “#SundayBrunch such immature behaviour on this show this morning!”

“Someone saying f*** on #Sundaybrunch happy sunday!,” another added.

One Tweet read: “Car crash TV at its finest. Lost all control! #SundayBrunch.”

“#SundayBrunch this has got to be the worst episode ever. Someone need sacking. The guest are idiots and that woman who swore,” a viewer remarked.

One commented: “#SundayBrunch is an absolute car crash today.”

Sunday Brunch airs every Sunday morning at 9:30am on Channel 4.
