WARNING: Spoilers ahead for Captain Marvel. Brie Larson’s solo movie as Carol Danvers is a box office monster, and – spoiler alert! – the mid-credit scene of that film revealed her turning up to meet the surviving Avengers after receiving the emergency transmission from Nick Fury’s pager. She will, of course, soon learn that Fury died in the Snap. Chances are she’ll already be aware that half of all living things across the universe have been wiped out – she just won’t know how.
Posting to Reddit, one Marvel fan suggested a heartbreaking off-screen demise that could leave Carol with extra weight on her shoulders when she arrives.
User mandolinemassacre wrote: “So we learn in Captain Marvel that Talos is not actually a villain, but a refugee simply trying to get his family and friends to a safe planet.
“When Captain Marvel shows up at the Avengers HQ, she is clearly distressed.
“While this is likely due to seeing the effects of the snap throughout the universe, I think that she likely witnessed Talos, Soren, and their Daughter die from the snap along with receiving Fury’s pager.”
They added: “I really have no evidence to support this so it’s just speculation, but I think it would be a good way to involve the Skrull.”

In addition to that mid-credits scene in Captain Marvel, we’ve also had a glimpse of Carol in Endgame courtesy of the latest trailer.
A brief coda at the end of the new clip sees her coming face to face with Thor, who tests her by having his iconic hammer fly right past her head.
She doesn’t even wince, keeping her steely gaze locked on him. “I like this one,” he declares.
The moment has got fans excited for potential Thor and Carol team-ups in the movie.
