Apex Legends Battle Pass release date news this week? PS4 and Xbox latest

It’s become a bit of a running joke for Apex Legends fans to speculate over when the battle pass will be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Taking a quick look on Reddit will show various posts lampooning Respawn Entertainment on their most recent updates.

This includes the use of the phrase “Very Soon” a lot. And since March 12, that has been the only news shared by Respawn on the subject.

However, some recent hints could point to Season 1 of Apex Legends kicking off later this week.

There’s a good chance that its massive popularity has meant trying to provide a more ambitious Season 1 experience on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Why else would the company confirm the Season 1 Battle Pass for March and then provide very little on the buildup to its release?

Respawn themselves have been honest in their attempts to try and manage a game that has exploded in popularity since its launch.

“We have some catching up to do to manage 50 million players showing up in a month and working towards more regular updates,” a message from the community team reads.

“You’ll see the cadence improve over time. Updates around Apex will always be the priority, but I also want to share more about the people and show behind the scenes and making of stuff as well.”

Adding on another post: “Crazy month for us and lots of work to do still but it does feel good to take a brief moment to celebrate. Thank you all for the incredible support [and patience!] this month.”

The most recent comment made by the team on the Battle Pass came from CEO Vince Zampella, telling a fan on Twitter that “Yes” they have an estimated release for Season 1.

However, no further details were shared on the subject, making it hard to predict when things will begin.

The good news is that Respawn has not announced a delay, meaning we can still expect something to appear in March.

And with Tuesday becoming the traditional day to see new Apex Legends updates go live, March 19 and March 26 seem like good bets for news.

A recent leak has appeared online not directly connected to the Battle Pass but with Season 1’s new character Octane.

Players on Xbox One found the New Legends Ult ability, which will be a deployable Jump Pad.

These have been popping up in live games and suggest that the new Legend could be arriving this week.

And while this is described as a leak, it appears to have been done on purpose by Respawn to tease the new gameplay mechanics.

So fans will want to an eye on the official Apex Legends social feeds for any more clues, starting Monday, March 18.

Here’s the only real information shared about the Battle Pass by Respawn on their official website:

“The Battle Pass is a seasonal system that rewards players with exclusive cosmetic items. These rewards are a mix of exclusive seasonal cosmetics and Apex Packs.

“Every player can unlock some of these items each season through normal play; those who choose to purchase the Battle Pass can earn everything available that season, around 100 different rewards.

“Everything you earn with the Battle Pass is yours to keep, even after the Season is over.

“Legends will not be included in the Battle Pass. The Battle Pass gives players exclusive cosmetic items and Apex Packs. Each season will run for approximately three months.”
