Rachel Riley, 33, took to Twitter and questioned why there was so “much hate in the world”, after 49 people died at a mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand.
In view of her 625,000 followers, she retweeted an article which showed the horrific scenes and captioned the post: “Total and unequivocal solidarity. This is heartbreaking awful. Why so much hate in the world…”
It comes after it was confirmed 49 people had been killed and more than 20 wounded, following the mass shooting.
Australian prime minister Scott Morrison described the gunman, who had Australian citizenship, as an “extremist, right-wing” terrorist.
Four people – three men and one woman – were in custody in connection with the shooting, New Zealand police said.
