Google Chrome has just received the radical new design fans have been waiting for

Google Chrome is the Mountain View firm’s internet client that regularly receives new features and improvements.

The newest version of Chrome, 73, has started rolling out and boasts a number of new functions.

By far the standout of the new edition comes with the implementation of a dark mode for macOS.

When macOS Mojave was unveiled back in September, Apple introduced a system-wide dark mode that has become incredibly popular.

The theme not only delivers a radical new look, but it also makes viewing content easier on user eyes overall.

While Apple’s native applications supported the dark theme, a number of third-party programmes such as Google Chrome had previously not complied with the aesthetic.

However, Chrome 73’s support for such a theme ensures the browser will correspond with the black design.

9to5Google noted Chrome’s dark mode ensures its tabs, Omnibar, bookmarks bar and more conform to the theme when it is enabled.

The outlet added the internet client will change its design based on the theme users have selected at a system-wide level of macOS.

This means a toggle to turn on the mode is not available within the Chrome client itself.

Moreover, it was noted the dark setting appears incredibly similar to the Incognito setting already offered in Chrome.

It appears the only way to tell the difference between the two is by noticing an Incognito logo that is positioned at the top of the browser, to the right-hand side of the URL bar.

Google Chrome’s dark mode is currently only available for macOS users, meaning it is not currently supported for Windows 10.

However, the feature is expected to arrive for the Microsoft operating system later.

Until an official dark mode does arrive for Windows 10, users of the operating system can apply themes for Chrome that were recently released by Google.

Available from the Chrome web store, the designs include a “just black” theme that replicates Google Chrome’s dark theme.

If users want to alter the theme they have chosen, they can do so by heading to chrome://settings/appearance.
