BBC News: ‘I'm sorry’ Carol Kirkwood apologises to Naga Munchetty after cheeky jibe

BBC Breakfast was being presented this morning by Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty, and they were joined by the BBC’s weather forecaster, Carol Kirkwood.

During one of her weather reports this morning, Carol revealed that it wouldn’t be good weather for people who had outdoor plans this weekend.

Naga didn’t seem to be best pleased by this news as she apparently had outdoor plans.

“I had outdoor plans, Carol,” Naga sighed as she was hoping to go out after the broadcast.

“Were you going to play golf?” Carol asked as her colleague confirmed her plans.

Naga added: “Look at that,” referring to the map of the United Kingdom engulfed in rain clouds was displayed behind Carol.

“It’s not exactly golfing weather, is it?” replied the BBC news presenter.

Carol began to laugh, and she was forced to apologise for her joke.

“I shouldn’t laugh. Sorry, Naga,” Carol apologised after she laughed at Naga’s misfortune.

Naga then informed the viewers that Carol isn’t quite as nice as everybody thinks she is.

They were presenting the show from outside Parliament yesterday, which meant that Dan and Louise were subjected to sitting outside in the cold, wind and rain.

On several occasions, it seemed the cold conditions were getting to Dan and caused him to get confused many times.

At one point, he went to introduce the weather segment and got completely mixed up with the storm’s name.

He began by saying: “It’s very windy down here in Westminster this morning. Heavy rain and strong winds are starting to hit parts of the UK. Storm Graham is moving east today -“

But Louise, perplexed by the sudden name changed, interjected her co-host and corrected him: “Gareth.”

BBC Breakfast airs every morning at 6am on BBC One.
