Weight loss diet: Emmerdale star sheds three stone by cutting out this one drink

Losing weight is no easy task with lots of different diet plans on offer to help people shape up.

In the past year, Emmerdale fans have noticed a drastic difference in the soap star, Laura Morton, and her diet secret might be easier to do than thought.

She has managed to lose an incredible three stone after she changed one small thing in her diet.

Laura revealed she dropped the pounds by cutting out fizzy drinks, after admitting she would drink two litres of the stuff a day.

Liquid calories are often forgotten when striving for weight loss, but fizzy drinks can contain enough calories and sugar to keep the numbers on the scales high.

The Emmerdale star had been in the habit of drinking soft drinks since she was a teenager, according to the Mirror.

Laura said: “At it’s worse, I used to drink two-litre bottles of Coke a day. I know now how much sugar is in it.

One can of the fizzy pop has nearly 150 calories, and Laura was packing in an extra 1,700 calories a day with the sugary habit.

Drinking two litres a day, Laura was putting away 840 calories and an astounding 212-grams of sugar per day.

This is something many people do without realising the devastating effects on their waistline, and cutting this out could be enough to really beat the pounds.

When Laura cut out Coca-Cola, she noticed the weight fall off straight away.

She was encouraged to cut it out when her dad pointed out what it was doing to her, she also revealed to the Mirror.

She added: “One day I was at home in my pyjamas and I wanted him to go to the off-licence to get me some Coke. I think he just thought it had gone too far.

“It was so much caffeine, so much sugar. You get a bit older and weight is harder to lose. Then I cut the Coca-Cola out and started to notice the difference and then just decided to keep it up.”

On top of gaining weight, the sugar in fizzy drinks can also cause problems to skin and teeth.

Laura also admitted to following social media fitness star Joe Wicks’ Body Coach and completing his workouts four times a week.

The Keto diet is recommended by many for weight loss, but what everyday foods should be avoided?

The Keto diet recommends eating high-fat and low-carb foods and although there are many foods known to be high in carbohydrates, there are some surprising foods that also make the list.

Oysters, garlic and onion all include hidden carbs and should be eaten with caution on this diet.

Recently, one woman shared how the Keto diet helped her lose more than seven stone.

Posting before and after pictures, she revealed the diet helped her slim from 18st 8lb to a trimmer 11st 6lb.
