UFO sighting on the Moon: Does a 1960s NASA photo show a ’TWO MILE structure’ on the Moon?

The bizarre claim was made today (March 13) by UFO-hunter Scott C Waring, who runs the conspiracy website UFO sightings daily. Sharing his latest alien discovery, Mr Waring said he found the lunar structure near one of the Moon’s many craters. The supposed alien object was snapped by NASA’s Lunar Orbiter, which took snapshots of the Moon between 1966 and 1967. Mr Waring, who believes NASA is holding back information about extraterrestrials, said the alien object is clearly made of metal.

The conspiracy theorist said: “I found this alien structure near the edge of a crater in an old NASA photo today.

“The structure looks like an oval sphere with two thick arms coming out of it.

“It also appears to have a few antennas or thin structures coming out if its top centre.

“The shininess indicates it is absolutely a metallic surface.”

Mr Waring then estimated the alien structure measures somewhere in the range of 1.5 miles to three miles (2.4km to 4.8km) across.

An object this big, he argued, would be impossible to hide from the public without purposeful “manipulation” of the facts.

He said: “The main question on most peoples’ minds is probably how big is it?

“That’s a bit tough, but I would estimate it to be close to 1.5 to three miles across.

“How can they hide such a large object? Come on guys, it’s NASA.”

Mr Waring’s latest in a long string of UFO sighting claims comes after his supposed discovery of an “alien base on the Moon”.

The UFO hunter encountered a photo glitch near the Moon’s Zeeman crater, which he said was “100 percent proof” of alien buildings on the Earth’s natural satellite.

He has now accused NASA and other space agencies of purposefully withholding information and erasing genuine evidence of UFOs.

Mr Waring challenged the US space agency and encouraged the public to see past the “mental manipulation” at hand.

He said: “We only know what they tell us, what they teach us, what they choose to tell us about.

“But have you ever asked yourself, what does NASA choose not to tell us about?”

NASA would, however, dispute these bizarre claims and instead attribute Mr Waring’s finding to the effects of pareidolia.

Pareidolia is a peculiar mind trick, which causes people to see shapes and patterns where they do not exist.

The most famous example is the photo of a mesa rock formation on in the Cydonia region of Mars, which alien enthusiasts claimed was a face.

NASA said: “Pareidolia is the psychological phenomenon where people see recognisable shapes in clouds, rock formations, or otherwise unrelated objects or data.

“There are many examples of this phenomenon on Earth and in space.”
