Lorraine Kelly opens up on relationship with husband Steve: 'I do my fair share'

The Lorraine host, 59, met cameraman Steve Smith over 30 years ago and the couple tied the knot in 1992. Speaking about her home life with her beau, Lorraine Kelly said: “A home should really reflect your life and where you’ve been. Steve and I have loads of old books that we’ve collected throughout the years and photographs from our travels that mean a lot to me. It’s very special for me to have those personal touches,” she continued.

Lorraine, who is a brand ambassador for Wayfair went on to reveal how she and Steve share the chores around the house, saying she isn’t much of a cook.

“My favourite room in the house in the kitchen, as it’s where my family comes together,” she said. “One of the best things is that my husband, Steve, does all of the cooking.

“I’m not the best at putting a meal together, but I do my fair share with the tidying up!” she added.

The ITV favourite said one way she and her husband like to spend time together is to catch up at the end of the day while he makes dinner.

“I love to sit with him while he preps a meal, have a chat and hear about his day,” she explained. “Our wee dog Angus is running around — it’s just lovely.

“I always find when people come to see us that everyone always ends up in the kitchen, it’s where we feel the most comfortable.”

Lorraine and Steve are parents to daughter, Rosie, who was born in 1995.

The presenter previously told FEMAIL about the secret to a happy marriage, saying: “I say don’t take each other for granted and make each other laugh.”

Recalling their wedding day, she said: “I did not stress at my own wedding.

“It was such a small wedding, it was wee. It was very traditional.”

Lorraine said her dress had “big sleeves like Princess Diana”, joking: “You could all get in it and live in my dress. Oh god, that was a dress.”

Rosie lives and works in Singapore and Lorraine recently told The Sun about how she has coped with her living so far away.

“After she graduated and then left to work in Singapore (where she has been for more than two years) I’ve kept her room exactly the same so that it feels that she will come back home any second,” she wrote in her column in October.

“I miss her but I’m so proud that she had the gumption and confidence travel and work abroad.”

Lorraine has partnered with online homewear brand Wayfair for two brand new TV adverts in which she shows customers the catalogue of styles for any home.

“Working with the team at Wayfair is always absolutely brilliant,” she said. “And it truly is an incredibly efficient all-in-one destination to shop for furnishing any space.”
