Liam Neeson makes first red carpet appearance following racism row at White Crow premiere

Liam Neeson, 66, made his first red carpet appearance last night since he was embroiled in a racism row.

The Irish actor attended the premiere of The White Crow in London and posed for pictures following offensive comments he made while promoting his latest film.

The movie Cold Pursuit follows a snowplough driver who seeks revenge following the murder of his son by a local drug lord.

During an interview about the film, the Taken star told a journalist for the Independent that he had an insight into his character as he once walked the streets looking for a “black b******” to kill after discovering a loved one had been raped.

He said: “I’m ashamed to say that, and I did it for maybe a week – hoping some [Liam gestured air quotes with his fingers] ‘black b******’ would come out of a pub and have a go at me about something, you know? So that I could kill him.”

The father-of-two admited his behaviour was “awful” but that he had learned from it.

“It’s awful. But I did learn a lesson from it, when I eventually thought, ‘What the f**k are you doing,’ you know?”

The shocking remarks caused outrage around the world and the actor faced a huge backlash from the public.

During an appearance on Good Morning America he insisted that he wasn’t racist and did seek help from a priest following the incident.

Last night the Oscar-nominated actor was joined by on-off love interest Freya St Johnston at premiere of Ralph Fiennes’ new film about a Russian ballet dancer.

Liam wore a three-piece blue suit for the occasion with a pair of tan leather shoes.

Sporting a bushy beard the actor posed for picture for the waiting press.
