UPDATE ONE: Patch notes have not been released yet for today’s Call of Duty Black Ops 4 update on PS4 and Xbox One; however, Treyarch has provided a short rundown on the new content available.

“The warming springtime weather has swept a tropical storm across the island map of Contraband Hurricane, free for all players in Black Ops 4,” the Treyarch message reads.

“Spring has arrived in Blackout with a whole new look, plus more weapons and our new Hardcore mode on PS4 with no HUD, armour, vehicles, or zombies!

“Black Ops 3’s Fracture returns with a new twist in Stockpile, debuting today in MP on PS4! Collect enemy tags, deposit them point to score points, and rack up the most points for the win.”

ORIGINAL: Patch notes have yet to be shared, but fans are already noticing some of the changes made in today’s Call of Duty Black Ops 4 update.

Black Ops 4 update 1.14 went live less than an hour ago and is available to download on PS4 and Xbox One.

Fans are reporting that the download size is over 9GB on both consoles and contains changes to various multiplayer modes.

As you might have already suspected, some of today’s changes are only available on PS4 and will remain like that for a week.

A new Black Ops 4 patch is also expected to arrive on PC at some point and will likely contain separate bugfixes and tweaks.

Today’s Call of Duty Black Ops 4 update is confirmed to contain the new Shamrock & Awe Event on PS4, as well as the new MP: Stockpile, and the Contraband Hurricane on all platforms.

Players also have early access to the Blackout: Spring Map Update, and Hardcore Mode, which will be coming to PC and Xbox One next week.

Zombies Mode has been updated with the new Hellcatraz Gauntlet, as well as Host Migration improvements.

Apart from the big bugfixes, Xbox One fans can look forward to League Play improvements and some rebalancing changes today.

Official patch notes are expected to be released in the coming hours which will include a full rundown on all of today’s big changes for PS4 and Xbox One.

Discussions have sprung up concerning the new Shamrock and Awe event, which is now live on PS4.

“A large part comes from the fact that Call Of Duty used to present itself in a serious, gritty manner, in terms of the atmosphere and theme. (CoD1-MW3),” one COD fan writes.

“A lot of those people grew up with the old games, and I’m guessing a fair amount of them really find the new stuff cringy and childish since it isn’t the Call Of Duty that they know.”

Another adds: “I grew up playing COD 4, so I get that. And would I love to see some cool badass outfits with a gritty atmosphere? Hell yes.

“But I appreciate the silly things as well. Ghosts had some fun outfits and maintained an overall serious tone. I try to remind myself it is a very casual game that is just for fun in the end.”

More news will be shared as soon as the patch notes are posted by Treyarch for Call of Duty Black Ops 4 update 1.14 on PS4 and Xbox One.
