Fans of Apex Legends were disappointed last night, as Respawn failed to reveal the Season 1 Battle Pass release date.
Fortunately, however, developer Respawn has told fans that Season 1 news will be revealed “very soon”.
“We’ll be providing details on Season 1, Battle Pass, and the next Legend very soon,” Respawn said. “It’s not coming out today.”
It’s not the news fans have been waiting for, but it is a boost to see that we won’t have to wait long for a new update.
But it’s not all good news, as Respawn sends a warning to Battle Royale fans.
With Apex Legends proving so popular, fans have been searching through the game files every time a new update is released.
Within these game files are leaked items and changes that haven’t made it into the game yet.
In a message to fans, Respawn warned that not every leak is accurate, and that some discoveries will never make it into the game.
“So between the datamining and the unintentional update about Season 1 on Origin today, there’s been a lot of speculation and confusion so we wanted to give some clarity,” the post reads.
“There’s lots of stuff that has been datamined from Apex since launch and is swirling around the Internet.
“We know this stuff is fun to dig up and speculate about, but you should not treat any of that info as a source of truth.
“There’s stuff in there that is very old, or things we’ve tried in the past and cut – remember our design process is to prototype and play lots of ideas – and some of it may be things we’re still building for Apex Legends.”
Respawn said to treat the leaks as rumours until the Apex Legends developer makes an official statement.
“Finding this stuff by no means confirms that it’ll ever come out. At best you should treat any posts about this as a rumour and the real info will come from us when we’re ready to show off what’s coming next.
“Thank you to everyone for staying patient through this and hang tight. We’re excited to get Season 1 kicked off and having you grinding on that Battle Pass with a new Legend to master soon.”
One thing we can be almost certain of is that Season 1 will coincide with the release of a brand new Legend called Octane.
The new Legend – who was pictured in an Origin store leak (above) – is said to be quicker than his fellow competitors. Octane is also said to regenerate health when not in battle.
