Man Utd fans will LOVE the three-word response Rio Ferdinand gave about Man City

Manchester City already have one trophy in the bag having retained the Carabao Cup, beating Chelsea last month.

They are currently top of the Premier League and are in the quarter-final of the FA Cup and Champions League.

Ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League last-16 second leg clash against Schalke, where City confirmws their place in the last eight, Ferdinand was asked if City can win all four trophies.

And the former Manchester United star’s response was simply: “I hope not.”

Ferdinand’s reaction caused laughter from BT Sport presenter Gary Lineker and ex-City defender Joleon Lescott.

But Ferdinand believes if any team can win the quadruple, it would be City.

“Have they got the squad? Yes,” he continued.

“Have they got the quality players? Yes they have.

“You need so much luck, there’s elements of luck you need to actually achieve this type of achievement.

“Listen, they’ve got a manager who’s experienced at winning multiple trophies in a season.

“So they’re best-placed to do that.”

Lescott admits luck in the draw of both cup competitions is vital for his former side.

“I think if they do that they go down as possibly the greatest team, in my generation definitely,” he said.

“It’s going to be difficult but like Rio said there will be elements of luck that will have to play a factor.

“Who they get in the next round, who they face in the semi-final of the FA Cup if they get there.”

Manchester City play Swansea in the FA Cup quarter-final on Saturday.

They will find out their next Champions League opponents at Friday’s draw in Nyon.
