The Walking Dead season nine has been one of the scariest seasons yet, and it’s all down to the introduction of The Whisperers.
These new villains were taken straight from the comics, and they are a truly formidable bunch.
It’s never quite known what they’re after, but their appearance tends to lead to a whole host of deaths.
One of the characters on the show has already experienced their murderous nature: Jesus (played by Tom Payne).
Jesus was killed by what he believed to be a walker, yet it turned to be one of The Whisperers, and he proceeded to stab the popular Walking Dead character in the back.
The Whisperers are lead by a ruthless woman called Alpha (Samantha Morton), and she brings forth a reign of terror in the comics.
It looks like she’s going to do something similar in the show, and viewers are already desperate to know how she’ll be dispatched in the series.
In the comics, she’s decapitated by Negan who then takes her head to Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) as a show of good faith.
In a recent poll conducted by Express.co.uk, viewers were asked how Alpha was going to die on The Walking Dead, and 53 per cent of voters thought that they were going to do something similar to the comics and have Negan decapitate her.
A whopping 28 per cent of voters thought that Alpha could end up being killed by her own daughter, Lydia (Cassady McClincy).
Only eight per cent of voters felt that Alpha would be killed by her own people, which could happen should Alpha continue to make the strange decisions she’s been making on the show.
Five per cent thought that Alpha won’t die, which would be a nice twist, however, given her ruthless nature, it’s unlikely that she won’t be killed off.
Four per cent of voters thought that Michonne will end up killing Alpha, which could be a very noble act to do before she leaves in season ten.
Only two per cent believe that Alpha will be killed by a walker, which given the way The Whisperers blend in by wearing the skin of dead walkers, it would be a very apt way to go.
If Negan were to kill Alpha like he does in the comics, it could serve as a redemptive act and help him atone for what he did in the past.
