Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9 have just been eclipsed by Samsung's newest phone

Galaxy Note 9 and the Galaxy S9 released last year and were certainly incremental upgrades over the Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8 respectively.

That is because both flagships retained a familiar design and maintained similar features when compared to their predecessors.

However, the Galaxy S10 series is certainly more of a substantial overhaul for Android fans.

That is because the product flaunts a fresh design and has myriad new features.

Galaxy S10 released on Friday, March 8, in three immediate models.

The smallest and most affordable version of the handset is the Galaxy S10e that omits some premium features in exchange for its more appealing price point.

Meanwhile, the standard Galaxy S10 and S10+ share much in common but the latter has a larger display and battery.

Additionally, the Galaxy S10+ also has an additional front-facing camera that can be used to detect depth.

All three models of the Galaxy S10 come with new features that make each handset incredibly alluring.

This includes the addition of a wide-angle rear camera system, the ability to wirelessly charge other devices that are placed on its rear and a new all-screen design.

The laundry list of functions offered by the Galaxy S10 appear to have been incredibly popular and have surely played a part in the device achieving record pre-order sales in the UK.

Such a feat was announced by Samsung on the day of the S10’s public release and means the hardware was pre-ordered more than the likes of the Galaxy S9 and Note 9.

In a post discussing the achievement, the South Korean OEM said the Galaxy S10+ accounted for 57 percent of the sales counted.

Moreover, it also emphasised the prism black colour option for the handset is the most popular with 47 percent of all S10’s sold arriving in the dark finish.

Talking about the S10’s pre-order figures in the UK, Samsung said: “Celebrating a decade since the launch of the first Galaxy S, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd has today revealed that its new Galaxy S10 line-up has generated more pre-order sales than any Samsung smartphone sold in the United Kingdom.

“In the UK, Galaxy S10+ has accounted for 57 percent of sales, showing a rising trend of consumers opting for high-performance handsets.

“Prism Black remains the most popular colour of choice, accounting for 47 percent of total S10 line-up sales.

“With industry-leading features including Dynamic AMOLED display, Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner and industry-leading Pro-Grade camera, the Galaxy S10 range is engineered to meet the needs of today’s consumer.

“With four unique devices – the S10e, S10, S10+ and S10+ Performance Edition, each device offers a next-generation experience in display, camera and performance.”

While Samsung did not disclose the amount of S10 units that have been sold through pre-orders, it is clear the handset has outperformed both the Note 9 and Galaxy S9 in this regard.
