Emma Willis husband: How Emma Willis CHASED down Matt Willis for a date

The Voice UK had its final Battle Round on Saturday and will progress to the Knockout stages next weekend. Sir Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson, will.i.am and Olly Murs are hoping their acts will progress to the next round. The Voice is hosted by presenter Emma Willis who started her career presenting on MTV in 2002, a platform which led her to meet her now husband Busted star, Matt Willis.

Emma and Matt have been together 14 years, meeting in 2005 whilst Emma was working at MTV and Matt a member of pop group Busted.

Sharing about her and Matt’s relationship on Loose Women in 2017, Emma revealed she had pursued husband Matt for a date first.

She said: “I asked him [out]. We met at MTV actually, years and years ago… I chased him for a little bit.”

Emma says she called on the help of singer Simon Webbe to help get her and Matt together.

She added: “I called up Simon Webbe from Blue who was with him on the telly.

“They were on Ant And Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway together and I said can you pass my number onto him… [Matt] didn’t call me.”

Matt did ring her a few days later, however, and their romance began.

The pair wed on July 5, 2008, at Rushton Hall, Northamptonshire with Matt following tradition and asking Emma’s father for permission before proposing.

Emma and Matt have three children together, eight-year-old Isabelle, seven-year-old Ace and two-year-old Trixie.

On their 10th wedding anniversary, Matt wrote on Instagram: “I actually managed to hang on to her for 10 years… I’m still not sure how?

“I know I’m punching before you all comment that!

“I am the luckiest guy in the world. I get to spend the rest of my life with this kind beautiful powerful woman.

“She is the most amazing wife and mother and I could not be more proud to be her husband.”

Matt found fame as a member of pop group Busted, alongside Charlie Simpson and James Bourne.

The band are known for hits such as Year 3000, What I Go to School For and Crashed the Wedding.

Busted disbanded in 2005, when Charlie left to pursue other projects – however, reformed in 2016 announcing that they would undertake a 13-date tour.

The band are on tour again this year, starting in Glasgow on March 23 before travelling to Newcastle, Cardiff, Manchester and London with other stops along the way.

This tour is for their fourth album ‘Half Way There’ which is a familiar sound for original fans as they profess to have returned “to their hyperactive pop-punk sound for the first time since 2003’s all-conquering, the multi-Platinum album ‘A Present For Everyone’.”

The Voice is on tonight at 8pm on ITV1.
