WARNING SPOILERS FOR CAPTAIN MARVEL AHEAD
There is almost 20 years between Captain Marvel and Avengers Infinity War, so why did Nick Fury never contact Carol Danvers all the other times the Earth was under threat? Is it just a plot hole that a prequel movie has failed to address? Now Larson and Jackson themselves have spoken out in an official Marvel Studios Instagram video.
Larson says: “One of the biggest questions we get asked is, ‘if Nick Fury had a special pager to contact Captain Marvel, why’d he wait until half the universe was wiped out before using it?’”
Jackson replies: “Right, well I’ll tell you right now.”
However, his answer is partially bleeped suggesting the answer is, in fact, a spoiler that will perhaps be addressed in Avengers Endgame.
Jackson said: “[BLANK] it was worth [BLANK] got some help [BLANK] and [BLANK] we’re referred to as [BLANK] powerful! [BLANK].”

Feige continued: “One, she does say it’s gotta be a real emergency, right? Yeah…
“The other thing I’d say is how do you know he never hit it?
“How do we know he never pushed it before? We’ve never seen him push it before. That doesn’t mean he never did.”
Captain Marvel is out now and Avengers Endgame will be released in UK cinemas on April 25, 2019.
