Xbox One FREE GAME: Download this AWESOME Xbox game for nothing TODAY

Xbox One fans can get a brilliant free game to try out over the weekend.

Xbox Live Gold subscribers can grab one of the best fighting games of this generation for free – but only for a limited time.

In addition to the Games with Gold releases for March 2019, Xbox Gold subscribers can download and play Mortal Kombat X for free on Xbox One.

It’s all part of Microsoft’s Xbox Free Play Days promotion, which gives subscribers access to triple-A games for free.

UK customers can play the game until Monday March 11 at 7.59am, after which it will disappear from your digital library.

A blog post from Microsoft says: “Select a character that fits your strategy and fighting style and jump into this fighting franchise with Free Play Days!

“Xbox Live Gold members can immerse themselves in the most cinematic and brutal Kombat experience yet with Mortal Kombat X.

“The Free Play Days event begins Thursday, March 7 at 12:01 a.m. PT and runs through to Sunday, March 10 at 11:59 p.m. PT.

“You can find and install the game here.

“To download on console, click on the Gold member area on the home dashboard on your Xbox One.

“The game is also available for purchase so you can continue playing while keeping your Gamerscore and achievements earned in-game during the event.”

The Xbox team added: “Get ready for the highly anticipated launch of Mortal Kombat 11 with a free weekend of Mortal Kombat X.

“Play through the cinematic story mode, and practice your finishing moves with new and iconic fighters.

“Once you’ve perfected your skills, pre-order Mortal Kombat 11 to get Beta access on March 28 and playable character – Shao Kahn.

“Don’t miss out on this Free Play Day weekend!”

The news comes after Xbox One fans were given a big games boost recently.

Halo Infinite is one of the biggest Xbox games on the horizon, but fans were left wondering if Master Chief’s new game would be appearing on the Xbox Scarlett.

But Halo franchise director Frank O’Connor has moved to reassure fans that Halo Infinite will indeed be coming to the Xbox One.

O’Connor was asked by a fan on Twitter about an alleged leak that claimed Halo Infinite would be coming to the Scarlett and not current gen consoles.

But the Halo bigwig responded: “I have no idea what leak you’re talking about, but Halo Infinite will be released for Xbox One and appropriately spec’d PCs.”

With Sony absent from this year’s E3, Microsoft will likely be going all out to steal the show at the major gaming expo.

So more details on Halo Infinite – as well as the Xbox Scarlett – are likely to be revealed there.
