Robbie Williams gets parents together for first time in 45 years

The singer, 45, wowed fans on the first night of his series of sold-out residency gigs at The Wynn Las Vegas’s Encore Theatre. But the concert was special on an emotional level, as it was attended by Robbie’s estranged parents. Father Pete, 69, and mother Jan, 78, were on hand to watch their son, having split up when Robbie was a toddler.

Pete later posted a moving picture of the three family members, and said: “First picture of Rob with his mum and dad for 45 years.

A little bit of history that just had to be shared. Proud parents.Well done son.”

Earlier in the show on Wednesday, the superstar had brought his father on stage to duet on Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline, which earned one of the biggest cheers of the night.

Robbie’s Las Vegas residency runs until July, but resort bosses are desperate to secure him for a longer period of time after some red-hot ticket sales.

A Vegas source said: “The ticket sales have been a revelation – Robbie is going down a total storm over here.

“Bosses would love to extend his deal and make this a more permanent residency. He is nailing it.”
