Jan-Michael Vincent dead: How did he die? What’s the Airwolf actor’s cause of death?

Jan-Michael Vincent died on February 10 but it’s only now been reported, according to TMZ.

The US publication, who obtained the death certificate, reports the actor died after suffering a cardiac arrest.

They said he was a patient at a North Carolina hospital at the time.

It also reports no autopsy was performed and Jan-Michael was later cremated.

Jan-Michael became an 80s heartthrob starring as Stringfellow Hawke in Airwolf.

The star became one of television’s highest paid actors at the time as he received $200,000 an episode.

Following the show, which ran from 1984 to 1986, Jan-Michael’s acting roles dried up.

He had a public battle with drink and drugs and had a string of arrests for cocaine possession in the 70s.

In 1984 and 1985, Jan-Michael was arrested after two bar brawls.

A few years later, he was arrested for drunk driving but avoided jail but entering rehab.

Jan-Michael ended up suffering serious injuries in a car accident in 1996.

The actor had a broken vertebrae in his neck and sustained permanent damage to his vocal cords.

Jan-Michael was charged with drunk driving after the accident where he was sentenced to rehab.

Twelve years later, Jan-Michael was involved in another serious car accident.

He revealed he contracted a leg infection as a result complications from peripheral artery disease.

He told the National Enquirer: “An infection in my leg got steadily worse.

“I felt like I was beaten with a whip.”

The infection became so severe, doctors had to amputate the lower half of his right leg.

Jan-Michael had a prosthetic limb and later admitted he had a lot to be thankful for.

“I look at this now and think I have nothing to be upset about when I think about what our U.S. military go through,” he said.

“They’re the real heroes.”
