Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: Arya Stark or Sansa Stark rule Westeros? Here’s how

Game of Thrones fans are desperate to see how the HBO fantasy show will end.

Although they only have just over a month left to wait, it seems the ending can’t come soon enough.

Lena Headey, Maisie Williams, Gwendoline Christie and Sophie Turner all appeared in Vogue Magazine this month and tantalisingly teased what’s to come while slamming any backlash against female characters.

Previously, many have wondered whether the drama does portray strong females considering the amount of abuse they face.

But Sansa Stark star Sophie slammed any claims, saying: “There are some people who make comments like, ‘It’s a misogynistic show because all these women are getting raped’.

“[But] most of the people coming out on top are women.”

Does this suggest there will be a woman on the Iron Throne?

Of course, one of the main runners for the title is Daenerys Targaryen (played by Emilia Clarke), who is currently on her way to defeat the Night King (Vladimir Furdik).

Once she’s done that, she will be heading to find Queen of Westeros, Cersei Lannister (Lena) to get the Iron Throne off her.

Either way, it’s a good time to be a woman on Game of Thrones, surely.

Maisie, who plays Arya, also pitched in, saying: “I’d say the key players this season are all female, which is why it’s so amazing we’re doing this shoot today.”

And most interestingly, Gwendoline, who plays Brienne, has suggested fans will get to see a lot more of the fan-favourite she plays this season.

“What I will say is,” she began. “I’m happy to see more of Brienne of Tarth the woman explored.”

But whoever does end up on the Iron Throne will have to do so with a big fight.

According to a new trailer from HBO, there’s a new character coming up which could give Cersei and advantage over Daenerys.

Harry Strickland is believed to be a new character in season eight after his shape was seen looking over his army.

In George R.R. Martin’s novels, “Homeless Harry” is a crucial figure in the Blackfyre Rebellion.

Furthermore, it is thought he will help out Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk) in his quest to impress Cersei

But will Harry have such a role in season eight?

Game of Thrones season 8 premieres on Sunday, April 14 on HBO in the USA, and Monday, April 15 on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
