BERLIN (Reuters) – Britain’s Prince Harry arrived in Berlin late Wednesday for a surprise visit to take part in a tourism conference in the German capital.

A Kensington Palace spokeswoman said the prince was attending the conference as part of a sustainability and tourism project he was developing through the Royal Foundation.

The foundation is the main charitable vehicle for Harry, his wife Meghan Markle, elder brother Prince William and his wife Kate.

The palace spokeswoman said Harry was attending the conference in a private capacity as a delegate.

Germany’s mass circulation Bild newspaper published two photographs of the prince as he entered the back door of an undisclosed hotel on Wednesday night, wearing the same grey suit he wore during an appearance with his pregnant wife earlier in the day in London.

Bild said Harry’s last official visit to Berlin was nine years ago, although he came to Germany in 2017 for a private hunting trip.
