LeBron James: Lakers star has LOST superstar tag, these TWO players are better – expert

That’s according to NBA expert J.E Skeets.

James is set to miss out on the NBA playoffs for the first time in 13 years this season.

His Los Angeles Lakers suffered a bitter 113-105 defeat to the LA Clippers on Monday night.

The loss all but ended the Lakers’ chances of getting to the NBA playoffs, as they are now 5.5 games back from the San Antonio Spurs in the final playoff spot.

And Skeets explained on The Starters podcast that James has been overtaken this season by either Durant or Giannis, due to the seasons that both are having.

Durant, who has been linked with a potential free agency move to the Lakers this summer, is averaging 27.6 points per game with 6.9 rebounds and 5.8 assists.

Antetokounmpo is widely expected to challenge for the NBA’s MVP award, due to his impressive stat line this season.

His Milwaukee Bucks are running away with the Eastern Conference, and Antetokounmpo is averaging 27 points per game with 12.6 rebounds and 6.0 assists.

Speaking on the podcast, Skeets declared that James looked human this year, and has shown that he is not as good as his younger rivals.

“This is the year that LeBron became human again,” the pundit claimed.

“He had to give up the tag of ‘best player in the game’.

“I think he lost that this year to either KD or Giannis.

“He also looked human this year because he had the injury, which he hadn’t had for pretty much his entire career.

“It was a major injury with that groin, he missed 17 games.

“That old hypothetical that you could put LeBron on any team in the NBA and he’d make them a playoff team, that’s not the case anymore.

“This made him human.”
