Joanne Clifton, 35, won Strictly Come Dancing three years ago with Ore Oduba, after beating her brother Kevin, 36, and his celebrity partner Louise Redknapp in the final.
But the Grimsby-born dancer admitted there was no bad blood between them and revealed What Kevin said to her following her win.
Speaking to Express.co.uk about her victory, Joanne spilled: “I said sorry to Kevin and he said the nicest thing.
“He said ‘Listen to me there’s not one person in this room or even in this world who his prouder of you right now’.”
She added: “He’s a gooden.”
Joanne went on to joke she decided to depart the BBC One show that year to help her brother out.
“Because of that I left strictly to give him a chance,” she laughed.
Speaking about her sibling’s win, Joanne continued: “He had a tough year and stuff, he found his feet and I’m really happy he managed to win.”
Kevin will be back to defend his Glitterball trophy on Strictly Come Dancing after it was announced he would be returning to the new series.
The champion commented on the exciting news on his Twitter account.
He wrote: “So happy to say I will be returning to @bbcstrictly this year.
“I can’t wait for the 2019 series and to defend the glitterball.”
Meanwhile, Joanne admitted she has no plans to return to Strictly Come Dancing herself but teased: “Never say never.”
“I’m happy right now on the stage,” she divulged. “I love singing, I love acting.”
The blonde beauty revealed she’s enjoying showing off her other talents on the stage where she is currently starring in the Rocky Horror Show.
The professional went on: “In Rocky Horror, there’s very little dancing in it for me, my character.
“I just do the Time Warp and I’m enjoying that! It’s a role where I can’t rely on my dancing.”
Joanne added: “I’m absolutely loving it. Think it’s the most fun thing I’ve ever done.”
Strictly Come Dancing is expected to return to BBC One later this year.
