Destiny 2 DOWN: Server status latest ahead of Season of the Drifter release

Destiny 2 servers are going down for maintenance ahead of the Season of the Drifter release on PS4, Xbox One and PCs.

The news was revealed by the Bungie Help Twitter account yesterday ahead of the big Destiny 2 DLC launch.

The Bungie Help Twitter on Wednesday posted: “Tomorrow (03/05) at 8 AM PST, Destiny 2 will undergo maintenance for Update 2.2.0.

“Players will be removed from activities starting at 8:45 AM PST.”

Destiny 2 fans in Britain will see players kicked out of activities from 4.45pm UK time.

In a post online Bungie also gave a schedule for when services will go down and come back online.

Here is the Destiny 2 server maintenance timeline for Tuesday March 5 2019…

• 8am PST / 4pm UK time: Destiny 2 maintenance is scheduled to begin, some Destiny Companion features may be unavailable on the Web, Mobile, and Third-Party Apps

• 8.45am PST / 4.45pm UK time: Destiny 2 is being brought offline for expected maintenance, players remaining in activities at this time have been returned to the title screen

• 9am PST / 5pm UK time: Destiny 2 services are scheduled to be back online, update 2.2.0 will begin rolling out across all platforms and regions

• 10am PST / 6pm UK time: Destiny 2 maintenance is expected to conclude, Destiny Companion features will be re-enabled on the Web, Mobile, and Third-Party Apps, players who encounter issues should report them to the #Help forum

The major Destiny 2 update marks the first new season launch since Bungie split from Activision at the start of 2019.

Destiny 2 Season of the Drifter will bring with it the new Gambit Prime and The Reckoning activities.

It will also feature the new Invitations of the Nine questline.
